How this site is funded
ImportDutyUSA (https://importdutyusa.com) is free to use and always will be. There is no account, no paywall, and no data of yours is sold. To help cover hosting and the work of keeping the tariff tables current, some pages carry paid links. Those links are labelled where they appear and are kept separate from the calculators and from the editorial content (guides, methodology, legal pages).
Two programs are live on this site today:
- Amazon Associates. Several tools link to Amazon search results for
practical import gear — postal scales, thermal label printers, US customs
reference books — using the Amazon Associates tag
bordertrip-20. As an Amazon Associate we may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through those links, at no extra cost to you. They are ordinary product searches: we do not name a specific item, quote a price, or claim to have tested it. - Helium 10, through the Impact affiliate network. The HTS code and duty rate lookup shows a Helium 10 link in its result panel, for readers who import in order to resell. If you subscribe through that link we may earn a commission, again at no extra cost to you.
If we join another program later, this page is updated before the link goes live. Links between the pages and tools of this site are internal navigation, never paid placements.
What paid links do not affect
No advertiser can buy a placement in a calculator result, change a duty rate, or move a tool up the directory on the home page. Every figure the tools produce comes from the official US sources documented on the methodology page — the HTSUS, US Customs and Border Protection, the USTR, and the Federal Register — and from nothing else.
The marketplace names that appear across the site (Temu, Shein, AliExpress) are there only because the tools estimate duty on parcels bought from them. They are descriptive, not promotional, and we have no relationship with those companies.
Editorial independence
The guides, the source citations, and the methodology are written before, and independently of, any commercial link. A tool is listed on this site because it answers a question US importers actually ask — not because it can carry a paid link. Several of the tools carry no paid link at all.
Labelling
All affiliate, sponsored, or otherwise paid links on this site are disclosed in line with the FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255): the disclosure sits next to the link, in plain language, before you click.
